A Brief History of Brian Brindel:

In 1996, 22-year-old American Brian Brindel arrived in Lviv. He not only studied languages but also actively helped build the local community: he personally assisted in renovating the dilapidated UCU building on Sventsitsky Street. Brian became a co-founder of the Lviv Education Foundation (now the «Ukrainian Education Platform»), establishing the idea of helping people become leaders in their communities.

After returning to the U.S., he remained a steadfast ambassador for Ukrainian youth. His life was cut short in 2000 at the age of 26. A few days before his death, he wrote words that later became the foundation’s manifesto:

«The most important thing now is to strive to inspire students so that they want to have an impact on society, so that they are dreamers and make their dreams come true».

The scholarship fund was established by Brian’s friend, Jeffrey, to comfort his parents and preserve the memory of his extraordinary generosity. Thanks to numerous donations, the fund supports students each year in embodying the values of service.
