A roundtable was held in Dnipro, where the project team, medical professionals, and experts discussed the results of the «UnitedForYou» resource centers’ work in hospitals. Participants analyzed practical case studies, developed strategies to strengthen psychosocial support for children and their families, and explored ways to integrate approaches to preventing gender-based violence.

A hospital stay for a child and their family is always a challenging experience, filled with anxiety and stress. That is why creating special resource spaces in medical facilities is an extremely important step that changes perceptions of a hospital stay and provides a sense of care. The «UnitedForYou» resource space is a safe environment for psychosocial support that serves as a gateway for children and their families into the comprehensive care system.
The project team, medical professionals, experts, and representatives of the civil society sector met in Dnipro to review the activities of these spaces, share real-life stories of change, and outline next steps.
The event was facilitated by Anna Chorna, a psychotherapist with interdisciplinary medical training.
During the meeting, participants worked through practical case studies reflecting the real challenges that children and their families may face and learned how to collaborate to address them.
Special attention was given to opportunities for integrating approaches to preventing gender-based violence into the work of the «UnitedForYou» resource centers.
«The roundtable provided an opportunity to come together with partners and experts to discuss coordination and future collaboration within the “UnitedForYou” resource centers, which operate directly in hospitals. Together, we identified common ground, shared experiences, and developed approaches to strengthen support for children and their parents. For us, this meeting was not only about taking stock but also about laying a stronger foundation for future joint work,» notes UEP Project Manager Oleksandra Oleksienko.
The «UnitedForYou» resource center is a safe space for psychosocial support for children, their parents, and medical staff. The project is implemented by the charitable organization «Ukrainian Education Platform» in partnership with Caritas Zaporizhzhia, Globa22, and the Parish of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist in Kropyvnytskyi.
