Psychological support close at hand: how the «United for you» Resource spaces help children and families in hospitals

Hospitals in Kropyvnytskyi, Kamianske, and Zaporizhzhia have established «United for you» Resource spaces support centers, where children, parents, and medical professionals can receive psychological support exactly when they need it most.

«United for you» Resource spaces are operating in hospitals in Kropyvnytskyi, Kamianske, and Zaporizhzhia - an initiative that supports the mental health of children, their parents, and medical staff.

A hospital is not just about treatment. For many families, it is also a place of anxiety, distress, and exhaustion. In the context of a prolonged war, these feelings only intensify. That is why psychological support is just as important as medical care.

The «United for you» Resource spaces operate directly within hospitals - so that help is available right when it is needed most.

Here, children can undergo an initial screening of their psychological and emotional state, receive individual counseling from a psychologist, and participate in sessions with a speech therapist. Parents can find support in mutual aid groups. Special attention is given to healthcare workers who face high emotional stress on a daily basis.

We are convinced that mental health support should begin where the family already is - right next to medical care.

The project is implemented by the charitable organization “Ukrainian Education Platform” in partnership with Caritas Zaporizhzhia, Globa22, and the Parish of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist in Kropyvnytskyi.
