«Space of care» in Poltava: A Safe Environment for Children's Psycho-Emotional Recovery and Development
Updated: Oct 15
Poltava is home to the «Space of care» initiative, where children and teenagers aged 3 to 18 receive essential psychological and speech therapy support. Through group and individual sessions, children overcome anxiety and communication difficulties, rebuilding their sense of safety and self-confidence.

When there is so much anxiety and uncertainty all around, what children need most is a place where they can simply be children. A place where they can share what’s troubling them and feel that there are adults nearby who will always understand and help.
«Space of care» has become just such a safe haven in Poltava. Here, children learn to overcome their fears, make friends, discover their talents, and overcome difficulties with communication and speech. It’s not just classes or meetings with specialists – it’s a cozy environment where children’s belief in themselves is restored, peace of mind returns, and emotions find a healthy outlet. Thanks to the warm atmosphere and the care provided by a psychologist and a speech therapist, children once again feel confident about the future and easily adapt to any challenges.

«Children of various age groups - from 3 to 18 years old - attend «Space of care». These sessions may include speech therapy, as well as group and individual sessions with a psychologist. Today, these are extremely important aspects, as there are an incredible number of requests related to anxiety. Our psychologist is working on this, and we’ve already seen very good results and successful cases,» notes Iryna Kryvobik, the program’s coordinator.
The project is being implemented by the «Caritas Poltava» Charitable Foundation with the support of the Ukrainian Education Platform. We are delighted to have the opportunity to support initiatives that help children overcome the psychological and emotional challenges of war and give them confidence in the future.
