The Ukrainian Education Platform joined the Eurochild conference on strengthening the protection of children’s rights

The Ukrainian Education Platform joined the large-scale Eurochild conference dedicated to child protection systems, which took place on 16–17 June 2026 in Paphos, Cyprus.

As a member of the largest European network of organizations working for and with children, we became part of an international dialogue on how to strengthen the protection of children’s rights in the face of today’s challenges.
More than 160 participants from 31 countries came together at the event to exchange experiences, practices, and solutions. Our representatives took part in professional discussions and in developing approaches to strengthening child protection systems at both national and European levels.

«We gather at a time when the world feels increasingly uncertain. Across Europe and beyond, we are witnessing growing inequalities, rising poverty, increasing political polarisation, shrinking civic space, and a worrying erosion of trust in institutions. At the same time, conflicts continue to devastate the lives of millions of children. The protection of children is not only about responding when something goes wrong. It is about building societies where children can thrive. It is about prevention, dignity, inclusion, justice, and hope», said Sabine Saliba, Eurochild Secretary General.
The conference once again emphasized that effective child protection is only possible through cooperation – between states and organizations. It is this kind of collaboration that enables timely responses to challenges, strengthens support, and creates an environment where every child has the opportunity to be heard and protected.
