Forum «Growing Through Storms»: Community Development and Youth Support in Focus

Lviv hosted the intersectoral forum «Growing Through Storms», bringing together representatives of civil society organizations, local communities, business, government, the Church, and international partners. Key topics included strengthening human capital, strengthening organizational capacity, and empowering youth as drivers of social change.

The forum served as a practical platform for sharing experiences, addressing complex challenges, and finding effective solutions for local communities.

Resilience Through Challenges: The event opened with reflections from Oksana Dyschakivska, who noted that crises and difficult circumstances are not merely obstacles, but opportunities to learn how to become stronger:

«A storm often rips off roofs and knocks down trees. It is not just a matter of whether we work despite or in defiance of it. Perhaps sometimes it is precisely thanks to these challenges that we learn to grow stronger», - said Oksana Dyschakivska.

Yaryna Furdyha, Project Manager for KIA Emergency Aid 3, emphasized the crucial role of collaboration between the Ukrainian Education Platform (UEP) and its Anchor Centers. She noted that organizations working in their communities every day  have the clearest understanding of residents' real needs:

«From our own experience, we know that people's real needs are best understood by organizations working in their communities every day. That is why partners and Anchor Centers are so valuable to UEP — they know their communities, their challenges, needs, and people well. It is this closeness to the people they serve that helps find solutions that truly work».

This year's program combined panel discussions, thematic discussion circles, a networking space, and a creative workshop.

In conclusion, participants reflected that the key to community development lies in ongoing cross-sectoral cooperation, shared responsibility, and mutual support in times of crisis and uncertainty.
